On August 3, 2022, the Department of Justice announced that scammers pretending to be from the Arlington Immigration Court. In these calls, scammers told people that their social security number had been compromised and asked for money. For more information on this scam, please see the Department of Justice’s official press release.

The Form I-589, Application for Asylum, Withholding of Removal, and Protection Under the Convention Against Torture is the required form in order to apply for asylum in the United States. Form I-589 must be filled out completely, and in English, in order to be accepted. Below, you will find a link to the form on the Department of Homeland Security’s website. We have also included a link to translations of the form in multiple languages created by reputable organizations, but these are not official forms and will not be accepted by the Department of Homeland Security or Immigration Court.
