How You Can Help a Local Afghan Family

The William & Mary Law School Immigration Clinic is working with a Hampton Roads family to apply for humanitarian parole for a family member who remains in Afghanistan. Humanitarian parole would help this family member enter the United States and stay while applying for another kind of permanent status, such as asylum, a Special Immigrant Visa (SIV), or a family-based petition.

However, the filing fee for a Humanitarian Parole application is $575, and a fee waiver is not practicable for the family at this time. The Immigration Clinic is asking for donations to help this family pay the filing fee. The Clinic has set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help this family. You can find the GoFundMe page here.

The fundraiser will remain open even after we hit our initial goal of $575. All donations above the $575 goal will go toward paying other filing fees as they arise.
